1) How much do you charge for lessons?
I currently charge $25 for a half hour and $50 for an hour
2) Do you really play all those instruments?
Yes! Most of my experience and education is with drums/percussion but I can play all of the listed instruments. One of the unique aspects of lessons with me is the ability to "Jam". For example, if you are taking lessons on drums I can play guitar or bass with you.
3) Can you describe your lesson plan?
I make sure the basics are learned and once that is achieved I encourage the student to somewhat direct his or her specific interest into the lesson. I continue to challenge the student with material or concepts I feel will keep them improving on their instrument.
4) What age and skill level are you comfortable with?
I have experience with very young children and adults. I am a father and work in Special Education so I bring that experience to the kid's lessons. As for adults, I welcome flat out beginners or individuals who are more advanced. Younger children need to have a reasonable attention span for the lesson process to be effective.
5) What is your payment and cancellation policy?
Cash or check is expected at the beginning of the lesson. You can pay per lesson or a month in advance. If you need to cancel let me know by 9:00 am the day of the lesson and you will not be required to pay for it. You do not need to communicate the cancellation directly to me as a phone message or email will be accepted. I will require payment if you miss the lesson and I was not informed as stated above. This policy is in place so that I know early in the day that your scheduled lesson is available for another student's reschedule. In the event you need to cancel every effort will be made to reschedule your lesson. Lessons canceled because of bad weather will not be held against you.
